A nifty part of this most excellent wave of figures!
It’s a stormtrooper with some extra stuff. As such, he’s SA, with the only real joint missing being ball jointed wrists, as featured on the TAC Commander Gree figure, or on the current Clone Wars Clone Troopers. The sculpt is great. The paint is simple, but pretty much correct. One thing that bothers me is that the black body glove is open at the neck, which would expose his skin to the vacuum of space. We’ll just say that the material is flesh colored and leave it at that so we can send him on his mission.
The thing I like best about this stormy is that his face is not a Jango clone. so we can all go back to pretending that not every stormtrooper has to be a Jango clone.
He comes with a backpack, a removeable helmet, and a hose that attaches to each. The helmet has a small hole just underneath the chin where the hose attaches. He has a regular Stormtrooper blaster, which he can grip well, and fits into the holster. He comes with a large rifle, which he can grip with 2 hands.
By removing the hose and backpack, he is nearly identical to a regular stormtrooper, so you could army build these either way you might like.
This version of the stormtrooper can be seen very briefly outside the Death Star as the Falcon approaches the hanger. Check out the reference pic above to see for yourself if you’ve never noticed.
It’s a neat figure. I picked up 2, which is all there is in the movie, that I’ve noticed. Pick one up for yourself!

As many of you know, I’m a clone-aholic, it’s not a secret, and Stormtroopers fall into that sickness as well. This guy is great for one major reason. It’s not a freakin’ clone head under the helmet. It’s actually Joe Johnston, you know Visual Effects guy for A New Hope, Empire, and Return of the Jedi. That guy. Now, keep in mind that there isn’t much different from this guy to the TAC Stormie we got recently, but it’s enough. The one thing I really like about him is that you can take all his gear off and make him a normal Stormtrooper, and no one would know the difference. Standard articulation here, nothing to write home about. Nice paint aps, but how hard is it to f up black and white?
So, if I love him so much, why did I only give him 9 out of 10? Well, I personally feel that no figure is perfect, and there’s always room for a little improvement, plus, I’m an ass like that.
