7/10 Bantha Skulls
I like this guy. It’s simple. Nothing fancy. But it gets the job done.
Pons Limbic (known in fan circles as “Braniac") is the first release of this cantina character. As such, it’s something I’m interested in.
He’s got a nice sculpt. His head is pretty detailed, down to the blood vessels popping out on his brain. The facial expression passes as one similar to that in the movie that we see. He is super-articulated, which is pretty standard these days. It will allow him to sit down, should you choose to display him that way.
He’s simply painted, but pretty true to the movie. My biggest gripes are that his head paint is very simple. A little paint wash could have really made the “brain” details stand out, and his face is very pale. Also, his neck is an even paler color, but the ball is a different color altogether, which looks silly when the head is positioned in such a way as to expose this.
He comes with one pistol which fits in his hand nicely, and fits in the holster well - if a bit loosely.
Additional value results from the inclusion of a cantina table. Early reports from Hasbro were that costs would keep this piece out. Fortunately, it made it into the finished package.
It’s a good looking figure, and makes a great addition to your Cantina diorama!
