Bantha Skull Strikes Back: 2010

As most of you have read already, next year is going to be a sparse one for non-Clone Wars collectors. According to the recent Jedi Temple Archives Hasbro Q&A, after the EU wave hits in spring 2010, there will be no more figures in the realistic styled line until August 2010. That’s around six months of nothing. What the hell, Hasbro? Are you trying to kill one of your best selling lines? How many collectors are going to call it quits between ‘Spring 2010’ and August? I know I might be one. Collectors that are part of the ‘collect one of each’ club might find this a cure to their collecting habits.
I imagine around the time that the August wave is ready to hit, Hasbro will make an announcement about the years first half sales and state how the TLC line didn’t sell well when compared to the Clone Wars line. Well DUH. How can you put a line on hiatus and expect it to do well? While we’re asking rhetorical questions, why would you kill a sub line (comic packs) in your best selling lines and state that the sales aren’t what they should have been. Of course they’re not.
This could be the end folks. I might be alone in thinking that, but I’m afraid it might be true.
