Banthapedia article on Yoda

“Yoda was born almost 900 hundred years before the Battle of Yavin.  By the time anyone got around to asking him what he was or where he was from, he claimed that he forgot.” - Banthapedia

Major Variants

*First Day of Issue foil stickers were added to assortments of The Legacy Collection Wave 1 and The Clone Wars Wave 1 figures.  Each figure exists with and without the sticker.  Also, the “Star Wars” logo on the front of the FDOI cards has a metallic finish.

Notes
*Unlike The Legacy Collection which has codes for the numbering system (BD, GH, SL), The Clone Wars line is numbered simply:  No. 1, No. 2, etc…

Fun with Action Figures!

1/10 Bantha Skulls

That’s right.  This figure, in a word, SUCKS!

I gave it a ONE.

I couple of tiny positives prevented this from receiving a zero.  Thos are:
1) Admittedly, he looks alot like the animated on-screen character (but he’s still hideous).  His spikey hair is funny.
2) His eyes are painted kinda cool in a wacky sorta way.
3) His accessories work well.

That’s it.

The sculpt is as simple as it gets.  Very little detail.  Almost nothing in the way of wrinkles or folds in his clothing.  The left side of his cape is a disaster.  It looks the way it does so that it can house the firing force ball thing.  Otherwise, he looks like he’s trying to sneak out of Wal*Mart with a BMF under his robe.

The paint, other than the eyes, is alos very simple.  No weathering, shadows, or washes whatsoever.  It’s like they used 4 simple colors, and that’s it.  This figure has no depth to it.

He comes with a standard lightsaber, which he holds well.  A cane, which he grips well but also plugs into the hole in his sleeve for greater stability.  The firing force ball is actually pretty damn good.  It fires surprisingly well.  The stick is way too long, though, so he looks ridiculous with it plugged into the spring.

The almost total failure of this figure is due to the lack of articulation.  What little there is, is bizarre.  His head and waist are swivel.  He has ball jointed feet - and no knees.  His right arm has a ball shoulder, a swivel elbow and a swivel wrist.  His left arm...ain’t got nuthin’.  It’s a giant blob, stuck in a position so he can fire his force ball.

Terrible.  I hate it.
