6/10 Bantha Skulls

Not a bad pair.  The X-Wing bodies are getting a lot mileage lately, with these comic packs and Evolutions sets.  Ibtisam has a femal pilot body, and Vakil has a male body.  The hands are new for this species, and the heads are repaints of recent characters for this species from the TLC line.  The paint is pretty well done, and these characters have some nice personality.  Ibtisam’s neck is a bit narrow looking for a Mon Calamari, but if you can get past this, you’ll enjoy the figure.  Both figures can grip their weapons firmly, but only Ibtisam comes with a holster.  The unique X-Wing helmets are very well done, and fit the alien heads snugly - even the one for Vakil, which looks like a skull cap.

The comic itself was passable, but the space air battle didn’t really come across that well to me.  Also, the antagonist is a bonehead.

Although I haven’t read much Rogue Squadron, I like that the EU expanded the rebel pilots to include more aliens.  As such, they might fit in a movie diorama, if you’re willing to sacrifice screen accuracy for what “should have been” on screen.
