Eh, I don’t know what it is about these comic packs. They’re losing their appeal to me.
This pack contains 2 figures you probably don’t need. The Leia is an all new plastic incarnation. Unfortunately, it misses the mark. The comic character comes across as sexy, this figure looks silly. Rather than being dressed in attractive evening wear, it looks like Leia is ready for a session of Sweatin’ to the Oldies. Her body is thick, especially her cankles, which, if not infamous by now, will be soon. The paint job is weak, and does nothing to add to the etherial nature of the outfit from the comics. Also frustrating, is that Hasbro overlooked the ankle joints, which are colored like her outfit, even though her skin is bare. She has capey thing, which I think is actually executed well here. There are wrist clips that attach nicely, and the material works. She also has a pistol which she can grip reasonably well. The face sculpt isn’t terrible, but the paint job does nothing to bring out the detail.
Xizor is actually the third version of this character, with 2 having been released as part of the Shadows of the Empire marketing blitz in 1996. Interestingly, one of the releases was in a comic 2-pack with Darth Vader. In that version, Xizor came with some bizarre hand-held energy shields. Thankfully, those were passed on and replaced with a staff for this version. This figure is, of course, a tremendous improvement over his 13 year old ancestor, but I for one was not clamoring for a resculpt. The paint is decent, the articulation is good, and the sculpt is nice. The problem is that his knee articulation is wasted because of the hard plastic that his skirt is made out of, limiting movement.
Basically, I didn’t need these figures. The Xizor is executed well, while the leia is executed poorly. Once again, 2 figures that don’t really add much to my own collection, but if you’re a fan of SOTE, you might want this.
