4/10 Bantha Skulls

Overall, this pack misses the boat.

Asajj:  Looks great in the package.  Your best bet is to leave her in there if you don’t want to be disappointed.  Her sculpt is decent, with some nice texture to her outfit.  Even though her arms are thin, the joints are not clunky.  She’s got a nice face sculpt, and the paint gives her plenty of personality.  Her legs, well, she’s got no knees and no ankles.  I just feel this has no place in the line any longer, particularly when her legs are thin.  My sample was nearly impossible to get to stand up.  She kept falling over.  MAJOR FAIL HERE!  Could be my sample, but whaddya gonna do?  She’s got nifty accessories.  Her dual sabers actually connect at the hilt.  The problem is that her hands don’t grip the hilts too well.  Same goes for the seeker droid.  The little lightning bolt doesn’t fit in her hand all that well.  It should be able to stand upright on a flat surface, but it doesn’t.  You have to remove the lightning bolt to do that.  It would be neat if the bolt attached to the arm or head of other figures (as it is depicted in the comic, in attack mode) but I can’t seem to get mine to do that either.

Tol Skorr is actually very good!  He’s got a great sculpt, and I think he’s a pretty good looking figure.  His armor is very detailed and well put together.  His shoulder armor actually swivel upward, to allow for full shoulder movement!  Nice touch here.  He’s got a full compliment of articulation, and has no problem assuming all kinds of poses.  His paint is well done.  This figure has some pretty good personality.  Perhaps if he was a bit meaner looking, this could have improved it a bit.  He’s got a perfect soft goods “skirt”.  His only accessory is his lightsaber, but it has a detachable blade, and the hilt connects to the peg-hole in his belt.  The only problem with this figure is that I don’t know who the hell he is!  But that’s fine.  I don’t read much EU.  He looks good as a random Jedi in a diorama (although you’ll have to do away with the red blade).

The pack is below average because the star of the duo is garbage.  Tol Skorr will probably never be remade, so this is a great effort on Hasbro’s part.  Asajj, on the other hand, is another example that propogates the Hasbro conspiracy theory that states we are getting subpar figures on purpose, to keep us buying, as we wait for the definitive version.  This ain’t it for Miss Ventress.
