Vintage Collection Spy Report

We have received some information regarding waves 3 through 6 of the Vintage Collection. We did not get specifics regarding the content, but what we did learn is telling. First off, the UGH foil embossed cards will reportedly continue into waves 3 and 4.

The bigger information revolves around waves 5 and 6 starting in 2011. The rumor is that there will be no carry forward figures into those waves. What does that mean to you? First, you’d best get your fill of the figures you want from waves 1 through 4 when you see them. Second, since these waves will not contain 12 all new figures there are only two possibilities regarding the case ratio. One is we will return to two of each new figure per case. This is not very likely given the case-ratio pattern of late. The other, perhaps more likely, possibility is exciting and has been rumored elsewhere recently. It’s speculated that Hasbro will start filling out cases with “Original 96” figures that they already have viable molds for. This means instead of carrying forward figures like the Gammorean Guard or the Magna Guard, we’ll start seeing repacks of figures like R5-D4 and Momaw Nadon (Hammerhead) being re-released so we can complete our vintage card sets.

This will allow us to finally get our hands on those figures we desperately want on Vintage cards and it will ensure the product on the pegs stays fresh, but it will also make army building certain figures a little more difficult.

As usual, nothing is confirmed and there is come connect-the-dots type conjecture, so take if for what you will.
