- This will be a pre-order with a $350 non-refundable deposit, pre-order date expected around the first week of December
- eFX is offering a layaway option, it will spread the payments over 3 months after you place your deposit
- Item expected to ship in early January, possibly late December
- The wings are made of machined aluminum, and will have detents to display in either attack or normal configuration
- There will be a removeable Luke piece that fits in the cockpit, made by Gentle Giant and is included in the price
- The cockpit will have glass included for the windows, and the lid is on a hinge for opening/closing
- All LEDs will be accessible in case any need to be replaced
- Model dimensions are 23” length, 20 1/2” wingspan, 4” height wings closed, 5” wings open, though no height on display stand has been given yet
- The base will be an oval with the same look as their helmet bases, no cover will be included
- They are also working on a surprise to add to the package.....
The first pic is not the final product, it doesn’t match the paint master so it will be re-done to better match the prototype. There were also a few other tidbits revealed:
- The die-cast line is going to happen, and the ships will about the same size as the Code 3 models
- The Asohka lightsaber has been pushed back to sometime in 2009, the Obi-Wan Xtreme saber is still scheduled for a Feb/Mar release
- eFX has the rights to do scaled sabers/blasters, but will not release anything that was done by Master Replicas unless it can be improved, though there is no confirmation that they plan do do them

1. Jabba’s Skiff Guards. Even most hardcore fans don’t realize there are around 13 different skiff guards and another 10 or so barge guards. Sure we know the classic Klaatu, Nikto, Barada, and Weequay, but how about the others? There’s Vidain, the Nikto who pilots the skiff, Velken Tezeri, the human guard, Nysad, the red Nikto, and various other human, Nikto, and Klaatu species. This is a hugely neglected scene. Get moving Hasbro!
2. The Hoth Rebels. How about Cal Alder, an indoor rebel soldier, Jess Allashane, an outdoor rebel soldier (shorty from the Saga line doesn’t count), Beryl Chiffonage, a commander with headset, Toryn Farr (female communications officer rumored to be coming), Corman Quien, an indoor baseball cap wearing rebel, Wyron Serper, a communications guy, and a bunch more. Most of them have distinct uniforms and would make great diorama builders. Hell, I’d be happy with a bunch of generic indoor and outdoor soldiers with some head swaps.
…And the most forgotten group in the Star Wars universe:
3. The Rebel Medal Ceremony on Yavin. There are green uniformed rebels, white suited rebel fleet trooper type soldiers, generic pilots, and more. I could see it now, multiple heads with the same body that could be released in waves, exclusive sets, or any way Hasbro wants. This scene is a diorama just waiting to be built. I would buy multiples of ever rebel to recreate that hugely iconic scene from A New Hope. This scene is ripe for figures!
Now don’t paint me as an OT purist. I’m a huge collector of PT figures including clones, Jedi, separatists and cool sith such as Darth Talon or Darth Revan but this ridiculousness has got to stop. Of course I don’t speak for everyone, but I do speak for a pretty non-vocal majority (at least I think it’s a majority) who want more classic OT figures made. To those fans, make your voices heard when Hasbro conducts the next fan favorites contest. To Hasbro, get back on track now and start producing the OT figures we have wanted since the late 70’s and early 80’s. Legacy wave 5 is a great start. Now get to it!
