Fillmore preaches the wisdom of communing with nature.  Yoda teaches the wisdom of communing with the Force.  They’re both green.  And with that the parallel between the characters in the Disney Pixar Cars universe and the Star Wars universe are drawn.  The hippie van from Cars is translated to to the Jedi Master from Star Wars.

Once again in this crossover line, the details show that this is far more than a gratuitous money grab of combining two popular franchises and collectibles.  The peace promoting and mind expanding tampos of a 60’s Volkswagen hippie bus are gone and replaced with a simpler Dogobah earth tone color scheme.  The roof of the van depicts the distinctive ridge and fold pattern of Yoda’s scalp.  The entire vehicle is given a dry brushing to simulate the muck a van living in a swamp would accumulate.  While the resculpting of the base vehicle is not that extensive, the side view mirrors are sculpted to simulate Yoda’s elfin ears.  This is a detail that is not apparent on the profile pictures I’ve seen online.  Fillmore’s dopey expression on the original vehicle is replaced with one that is more serene and tranquil.

But the biggest single not to Star Wars fans comes on the rear license plate.  The license plate spells out “Yoda” in the Star Wars writing system of Aurebesh.  Very cool
