HK-47 was released as a build-a-droid in the final wave of phase 1 of The Legacy Collection (blue), which was Attack of the Clones themed. This was cruel for a couple of reasons. HK-47 was the oft requested assassin droid from the wildly popular Knights of the Old Republic video game. Attack of the Clones was not wildly popular. Forcing fans to buy an entire wave of figures from a source they may or may not care about, just to get one figure they do care about is...well...
Second and as mentioned, this was included in the final wave of phase 1 of The Legacy Collection (blue). "Last waves" were notoriously difficult to acquire when brick and mortar was still the primary option for purchasing figures. This is because retailers would cut back on their orders of the last wave so they could clear the decks for the new line look. This Attack of the Clones wave was no exception, which made the chore of getting a completed HK-47 even more difficult. Many fans who wanted the figure in 2009, ended up going without. Once again, we have a figure that never met demand.
People will pay $20 for one of HK-47's limbs. Releasing the entire figure for $13 is a no-brainer, and would be a great kindness to many fans.
